Combustible Dust Explosion Hazards Fundamentals

Learn the causes of combustible dust fires and explosions and identify a basis of safety to prevent events

Dust explosions and flash fires continue to occur in many manufacturing and maintenance sectors, including the food & beverage, grain handling, pharmaceutical, metal fabrication, and chemical process industries. These events have led to serious injuries, equipment damage, loss of production, and regulatory consequences.

Combustible Dust Pentagon

Our webinar on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust Explosion Hazards provides an overview of the proper handling, storage and processing of combustible dusts and includes methods for establishing an appropriate Basis of Safety. We will discuss:

  • What is required to initiate a dangerous dust cloud explosion,
  • What property data is required to assess the hazard at your facility,
  • What is a Basis of Safety and how can you apply it to your facilities within the scope of a Dust Hazards Analysis (DHA), a requirement of NFPA 652 (2019), Standard on the Fundamental of Combustible Dust, and the International Fire Code (IFC) and ATEX Directive 137

Join two of DEKRA’s global experts for this 3-hour webinar as they explain the most relevant elements of combustible dust explosion hazard prevention and respond to your questions on the topic. Additional material such as presentations, transcripts etc. will not be supplied. For your convenience, the webinar will be delivered at two different times to accommodate participants from multiple time zones. The training is available at €95 per webinar and participant.
