More than just partners

DEKRA and Stefan Mücke: On the fast track for decades

Stefan Mücke feels right at home on race tracks all over the world. From Austin (USA) to Zandvoort (Netherlands) there is one thing he always can count on: His long-term partner DEKRA is standing by his side, as it has done for over two decades.

The partnership dates from the 2000 motor racing season when Stefan Mücke competed in the DEKRA supported German Formula 3 Championship, and from his second year in the series Stefan Mücke ranked among the frontrunners. In 2001 the racing driver from Berlin narrowly missed out on the drivers‘ title, lacking a mere four points after 20 races. His career path after that, however, was predetermined: In 2002 Stefan Mücke joined DTM, a series that DEKRA has been partnering for more than 30 years with its technological expertise on hand.
But Stefan Mücke did not stop there. For the 2007 season he rather made the switch from touring car racing to sports car racing and turned his career into an even more international one. As a works driver for Aston Martin and Ford he competed in some of the most important races around the globe, including but not limited to the Le Mans 24 Hours or the Nürburgring 24 Hours. In 2011 Stefan Mücke achieved P2 in the FIA GT1 World Championship drivers‘ standings and in 2013 he came home third overall in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Two years later, Stefan Mücke placed third again in the prestigious FIA GT World Cup at Macau.
And wherever Stefan Mücke takes to the track in a racing car, his trademark red driver cap is with him, sporting the iconic white DEKRA logo.
DEKRA, however, has for a long time not only featured on Stefan Mücke’s racing gear as the extended partnership now includes the family’s legendary racing team Mücke Motorsport and Mücke Motorsport‘s Classic division. This is why DEKRA sits right at the heart of the action in the Mücke Motorsport racing universe. The team that was founded in 1998 by Peter Mücke has been firmly established in international motor racing ever since.
Being a former racing driver himself, Peter Mücke enjoys racing cars down to the present day, for example when he competes in the DEKRA supported Touring Car Classics, just like his son Stefan Mücke likes to do. Only recently the latter also drove in the ADAC GT Masters that has DEKRA among its partners, too. And the GT Masters is another racing series in which Mücke Motorsport took part in as a team, winning along the way, of course.
„Our partnership with DEKRA is more than just a partnership. The last 20 years pretty much welded us together. Having the support of DEKRA at the beginning of my racing career proved to be decisive for the success and career that were to follow. Without DEKRA this would not have been possible. We complement each other perfectly, there is huge mutual respect among us and we are there for each other at all times“, Stefan Mücke says. „Over at our Berlin headquarters the DEKRA experts take care of the scrutineering process for our historic racing cars and customer racing cars alike. DEKRA always is a reliable partner, no matter what. And we are very proud that we can be a part of its big family.“
And whenever Stefan Mücke is not sitting in a racing car himself he is totally committed to working for his DEKRA partnership, for example through specific interactive postings on social media or by making a wildcard entry at the ADAC GT Masters eSports Challenge. This is because there is one thing that applies to Stefan Mücke and DEKRA in each and every case: They are on the fast track together, and have been for decades.
