DEKRA Award 2019 – The winners

Bosch eBike Systems

Bosch eBike ABS

The submission

Road safety for e-cyclists and their environment is a crucial factor. The world's first production-ready anti-lock braking system (ABS) for pedelecs now enables more controlled, stable braking even under difficult conditions. The Bosch eBike ABS combines front ABS with rear lift control for increased safety. During difficult braking maneuvers, it regulates the brake pressure and thus optimizes the stability and steerability of the eBike. This reduces the likelihood of the front wheel locking and slipping or the rear wheel taking off. This reduces the risk of rollovers and falls.

Jury statement

Through its development, Bosch eBike Systems is able to guarantee more safety for pedelec drivers in the long term and on a sustainable basis - at a time when the topic of two-wheel safety is becoming increasingly important.
