ETSI EN303 645 is a standard for cybersecurity in the Internet of Things that establishes a security baseline (security and privacy) applicable to all consumer IoT devices.

Many consumer IoT devices and their associated services process and store personal data. ETSI EN303 645 helps to ensure these are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The pre-assessment and testing are based on ETSI TS 103 701, which provides guidance on how to assess and assure IoT products against provisions defined in ETSI EN 303 645.

The IoT products included in the scope are connected children’s toys and baby monitors, connected safety-relevant products such as smoke detectors and door locks, smart cameras, TVs and speakers, wearable health trackers, connected home automation and alarm systems, connected appliances (e.g. washing machines, fridges) and smart home assistants.
