Seat Systems to the Test

On our test sled at the DEKRA Technology Center, we can perform dynamic tests on child restraint systems pursuant to the ECE regulations no. 44 and 129 (iSize). The modular structure allows us to make quick adjustments in line with the desired impact direction (front / side / rear). Additionally, we offer dynamic tests on vehicle seats pursuant to ECE regulation no. 17.
At a maximum speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour and a highest weight of 600 kilograms, we test the child seats on a bench or in a vehicle structure. High speed cameras in combination with modern software supply superb analysis videos with up to 5,000 images per second. In addition to the high-speed cameras, corresponding child dummies, from newborns to 10-year-old children (P and Q dummy), are used to analyze the biomechanical impact on the human body. State-of-the-art measurement data collection and analysis software enable us to record and subsequently evaluate the measured impacts, such as accelerations, forces, and torques.
The range of services in this area covers not just the performance of crash tests. Corresponding test benches, such as a test bench for rollover tests, several conditioning test benches, and a temperature chamber are available for component tests and individual parts tests on the child restraint systems.
