Feb 17, 2020 Digital & Product Solutions

DEKRA successfully completed the first Energy Efficiency (EE) certification project for the Peruvian market and issued the first EE certificate to LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances. The certificate is unique as it is one of the first EE certificates for this market issued by any Certification Body. DEKRA is currently one of the very few EE Certification Bodies for Peru.

The certified product of LG Electronics, a clothes dryer, belongs to a product category, which is subject to mandatory EE certification in Peru. The new regulation will become effective in April 2020. In addition to clothes dryers, also further types of household appliances must be certified according to EE and bear the EE label in Peru.
DEKRA is accredited by CGCRE INMETRO, a Brazilian accreditation body, to certify clothes dryers, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and air conditioners according to the EE requirements of Peru. Furthermore, the EE requirements of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Panama for these products are covered by the accreditation.
DEKRA is proud of enabling its customers to belong to the first holders of EE certificates for Peru and successfully adding the new Latin American EE certification schemes to its service portfolio. This allows DEKRA to optimally support manufacturers and importers to attain the required EE label. Testing for the EE label can be performed in DEKRA laboratories across multiple continents.
