DEKRA launches a new edition of the DEKRA CTF cybersecurity challenge

DEKRA organizes the second edition of its cybersecurity challenge: DEKRA CTF.

Challenge lovers will have the opportunity to prove their cybersecurity skills and agility in resolving problems, by participating in a virtual competition where they will have a maximum of 48h to complete the security challenges designed by DEKRA cybersecurity experts. DEKRA CTF will start on January, 28th, 2022, at 10:00 p.m CET., and will finish on January, 30th, at 10:00 p.m. CET.

At DEKRA, we are committed to boosting cybersecurity awareness with initiatives like DEKRA CTF. With this competition, we aim to identify and reward talent among participants, as well as promote interest and specialization in cybersecurity areas, a sector where professional opportunities are expected to continue growing in the next decades”, said Fernando E. Hardasmal, Head of Service Division Product Testing and Executive Vice President at DEKRA.
During DEKRA CTF, participants will have to solve technical challenges in different difficulty levels and various disciplines of cybersecurity, such as reverse engineering, exploiting, web hacking and IoT. When a participant solves a challenge, a flag (a code) is granted as proof of his or her skills, and a score. The challenges with the fewest resolutions will score higher. The three first participants that obtain higher punctuation in the DEKRA CTF score classification, will be awarded. The prizes are 1000 € for the first place, 500 € for the second place, and 300 € for the third place. Additionally, DEKRA may offer exciting job opportunities to any participant of the CTF.
Anyone interested in testing their knowledge and expertise in this transcendental field of technology, can already register for the DEKRA CTF. The registration is free of charge and will close on January 28th at 2:00 pm., a few hours before the challenge starts.
