Information about Consent and Data Protection in the DEKRA Press Newsletter

With the following information, we are making you aware of the contents of our newsletter and your right to withdraw consent. We are also informing you about the subscription, distribution, and analysis processes.
By subscribing to our newsletter, you are confirming that you have received our information and declaring your agreement to the procedures described herein.
What does our press newsletter contain?
The press newsletter of DEKRA e.V. is sent in the form of an email through the newsletter distribution platform called Newsletter2Go. It provides you with regular information from the press section of the website www.dekra.de. A link in the newsletter will take you to DEKRA’s latest press release.
The newsletter is usually mailed out once or twice a week, depending on communication requirements and the publication of new press releases.
Double opt-in and recording
Subscription to our newsletter takes place using a double opt-in procedure. That means, after subscribing, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary to ensure your email address is not being used fraudulently by third parties. You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter (opt out) at any time (please also refer to our cancellation policy below). You will find a link for unsubscribing in every newsletter.
Newsletter subscriptions are recorded so that we can document the subscription process as required by law.
What information is collected and for what purpose?
During the subscription process, we record your email address as information required to send you the newsletter. If you wish to receive a personalized newsletter, you can voluntarily enter your last name and the appropriate title as well. That information is stored in the system of Newsletter2Go and is used to distribute the newsletter.
The newsletters contain a pixel-sized file, which is accessed by the Newsletter2Go server when the newsletter is opened. When that file is accessed, it first collects technical information such as the details of your browser, system, and IP address, as well as the time of access. This information helps us to improve our services based on the technical data, target groups, your reading habits, place of access (which can be determined using the IP address) and the time of access.
As a result, the following information may be collected: whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked on. For technical reasons, this information can be used to identify individual newsletter recipients. These analyses help us to recognize the reading habits of our users and to customize our content for them. The habits of individual users, however, is not monitored or analyzed.
Cancellation policy
You may terminate your subscription to our press newsletter at any time. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the bottom of each newsletter.
When canceling/unsubscribing, you are simultaneously revoking your consent to distribution via Newsletter2Go as well as statistical analyses. We regret that consent to distribution or statistical analysis cannot be revoked separately.
