DEKRA listed by Global Certification Forum for the new C-V2X certification program for connected vehicles
DEKRA has become a Global Certification Forum (GCF) Registered Test Organization (RTO) and is now able to provide certification services according to the new GCF cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) certification program. GCF is a non-profit, global membership driven organisation that promotes mobile and IoT certification programmes for conformity to agreed standards of interoperability.
“We are very excited to provide C-V2X certification services for devices with PC5 interfaces”, commented Thomas Jäger, Senior Vice President at DEKRA, Service Division Product Testing. The direct communication between vehicle and other devices uses the PC5 interface standardized by 3GPP. “We are adding another building block to our comprehensive C-V2X service offerings addressing all kinds of products and related infrastructure components”. GCF’s CEO, Lars Nielsen added “GCF welcomes DEKRA supporting the C-V2X certification program. We would like to extend an invitation to interested parties in the industry to join the Connected Vehicles Work Stream setup by GCF and 5GAA to maintain and further develop solutions for C-V2X certification”.
The GCF C-V2X certification program, based on lab conformance testing, is available to both GCF members and non-members. DEKRA adds higher layer testing for all major regions in the world as well as full application validation services not only in the lab, but also on the connected test tracks. As an active member of GCF and 5GAA, DEKRA supports collaborations between the various organizations providing additional value to the market and finds it important that vehicle OEMs and roadside operators fully endorse the great benefits resulting from these kinds of programs.
