A Linguistic Talent on a Cybersecurity Mission
Get to know Vita, DEKRA employee in the Cybersecurity Lab. She spent her childhood in Ukraine, has been living and working in Málaga for over ten years and has been part of DEKRA's Cybersecurity team since 2022. She keeps the Cybersecurity team running smoothly behind the scenes, supports with marketing and organizes different departments and customer projects.
Highlights in Vitas Cybersecurity Career
During her almost three years at DEKRA, she has gained a good overview of the work of her 200 colleagues in the Cybersecurity Lab. Among the highlights of this time, she cites the launch of two cyber security services in collaboration with ADA (=App Defense Alliance, an organization of leading cybersecurity companies) where she was involved in the entire creation process, looking after customers, developing the websites and even implementing e-commerce. "When I joined the team, I had no technical background. It was a great opportunity for me to grow. In less than three years, I have learnt a lot about cybersecurity industry and organization".
I like to think of myself as part of a team that protects people from the new dangers that digitalization brings.

From Interpreter to Cybersecurity Expert
She originally studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga and holds a master's degree in Institutional Translation from the University of Alicante. As a career changer, she feels at home in the world of supposed “computer nerds”: “I like to think of myself as part of a team that protects people from the new dangers that digitalization brings. The rapid developments we are seeing in the fields of artificial intelligence and the networking of devices need someone to ensure that vehicles, cell phones, and even toys are safe when people use them.”
Dream job far away from home
For Vita, DEKRA's 100th anniversary is a personal reminder that hard work and dedication pay off and that you can achieve more as a team than you can alone. “I enjoy working for a company that has been committed to safety and security for a century. It definitely gives my daily work a deeper meaning.”
The fact that she works in one of the sunniest places in Europe, in Málaga, is now less important to Vita. Born and raised in Ukraine, she misses the hilly landscape and the seasonally changing climate in her home country. Most of her family still lives near Lviv, and the current situation is not easy for them.
She spends her free time hiking, traveling and learning foreign languages, mostly by reading books. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian. Basic knowledge of German and Arabic complete her impressive repertoire.
