Strategy & Targets

With our Sustainability Impact 2030+ Strategy, we strive to further improve sustainability performance within our company and our value chains as well as for our customers through our business activities.

Board Statement

In a world shaped by accelerating transformation, the question is no longer whether sustainability will redefine markets and societies – but how fast we collectively act, and how credibly we deliver. At DEKRA, sustainability is therefore not a topic “next to” our business. It is embedded in our identity as an independent expert organization and in our responsibility to help enable safety, security, and sustainability. With our strategic framework IMPACT 2030+, we are sharpening our course for the next chapters: to maximize positive impact and remain future-ready in a changing world.
Sustainability is a central, integrated element of this strategy – not an add-on, but a foundation that strengthens resilience, enables sustainable development, and safeguards long-term viability for DEKRA and our stakeholders.
This is also reflected in our three strategic business drivers Sustainability, Future Mobility, and Digital Trust. These drivers are deeply interconnected: the mobility transition requires climate credibility and digital assurance; digital transformation requires trust, security, and responsible innovation; and sustainability, understood in a broad ESG perspective, is the enabling framework that aligns environmental ambition, social responsibility, and integrity in governance. In this sense, sustainability is not merely a priority that may change with circumstances – it is a DEKRA value, and values endure.
The climate crisis demands clarity and commitment. That is why we have further evolved our approach to corporate climate responsibility through DEKRA Climate Impact (DCI) – a program that goes beyond compensation-based neutrality narratives and instead focuses on measurable impact, combining ambitious internal decarbonization with meaningful contributions to mitigation and adaptation through strong partners. A key steering mechanism is our internal carbon price, which strengthens accountability and drives investment decisions where they matter most.
In 2025, we made tangible progress. We achieved all our sustainability 2025 targets.
We reduced carbon emissions in our key operational scope significantly versus our baseline year and continued the transition of our energy consumption and fleet towards renewable sources. Employee engagement and diversity in our teams have been further increased, external partnerships, initiatives, and advocacy for sustainability have been expanded.
At the same time, we continued to scale our role as a multiplier: our sustainability-related services portfolio comprises more than 500 services, supporting customers across energy transition, ESG, and future mobility pathways – demonstrating how sustainability is also a decisive factor for DEKRA’s future business model and growth.
With our Sustainability Impact 2030+ targets, we have defined the pathway for the next chapters of our sustainability journey.
As a team, we are proud of what has been achieved – and even more determined about what lies ahead. Our ambition is clear: to leverage positive impact until 2030 and beyond, while remaining a trusted independent third party in the transformations that define our time. We invite our colleagues, customers, and partners to continue this journey with us – with responsibility, confidence, and the shared commitment to securing the future.
