    NFC in Digital Car Key Ecosystems

    Near Field Communication (NFC) plays an important role in secure digital access systems in connected vehicles. In digital key implementations, NFC enables secure proximity authentication between mobile devices and vehicle access systems, allowing users to unlock or start vehicles with smartphones, smartwatches, or digital credentials. NFC is also used as a fallback technology in digital key systems that combine NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Ultra-Wideband.
    Digital vehicle access solutions are implemented within industry ecosystems such as those defined by the Car Connectivity Consortium and require certification to ensure interoperability and secure integration between vehicles, mobile platforms, and digital credentials.
