DEKRA, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, announces a partnership with Windrose, a dynamic innovator in zero-emission long-haul trucks. This collaboration combines a century of expertise with fresh innovation, driving forward safe electrification and automation in mobility. With DEKRA celebrating 100 years of safety excellence and Windrose recently completing its third year of rapid innovation in the field of zero-emissions long-haul trucks, the partnership takes a global approach, spanning four continents.
Founded in Berlin in 1925, DEKRA has been supporting leading truck manufacturers with validation, testing, training, audits, and vehicle inspections for decades. In the new collaboration, DEKRA and Windrose will be working together on critical aspects of safety and performance in electrified and automated transportation systems.
Both organizations are committed to improving safety in electric mobility by setting high standards for battery performance and fire risk mitigation, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of energy storage systems. Rigorous vehicle safety testing and evaluation are going to enhance consumer protection through compliance with NCAP ratings and other industry benchmarks. Further, the partnership will explore the application of independent monitoring of battery health, based on DEKRA’s patented EV battery state-of-health diagnosis method.
As automation continues to revolutionize mobility, DEKRA and Windrose will join forces to enhance the reliability of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), improving road safety through comprehensive testing and validation. Additionally, the collaboration will focus on advancing vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, ensuring seamless communication between vehicles, infrastructure, and other road users to create a safer and more intelligent transportation ecosystem.
With a presence across Europe, North America (Michigan), Oceania (New Zealand), and Asia (China), this partnership leverages DEKRA’s extensive global network to support Windrose in meeting regional and international safety standards.
By combining DEKRA’s well-established testing facilities and regulatory expertise with Windrose’s innovative approach, the collaboration will accelerate the adoption of safe and sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.
Through close cooperation with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders, DEKRA and Windrose will drive harmonized safety standards across multiple markets, ensuring that the latest advancements in electrification and automation are implemented seamlessly on a global scale.
