DEKRA has entered a new strategic partnership in Dubai. Appointed by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), DEKRA manages and operates the new Dubai Mobility Labs (DML) — the first dedicated proving ground for ADAS and autonomous driving in the Middle East.
The Dubai Mobility Labs strengthen DEKRA’s global testing ecosystem, which already comprises 10 high-tech test laboratories and four proving grounds worldwide. With Dubai, DEKRA expands its proving ground network to a fifth location, adding unique capabilities for testing under extreme climate conditions and further enhancing its ability to validate future mobility technologies across diverse environments.
The Dubai Mobility Labs are part of RTA’s initiative to advance autonomous transportation and achieve 25% autonomous trips by 2030. Equipped with dedicated test tracks, controlled testing areas and open-road testing capabilities, the facility enables the replication of complex driving scenarios and provides a comprehensive environment for testing, validation and certification under real-world conditions.
Independently operated by DEKRA, the services cover the entire autonomous driving lifecycle — from early development and verification through validation and certification. This enables manufacturers, technology providers and mobility innovators to accelerate the deployment of next-generation solutions, including autonomous vehicles and emerging concepts such as robotaxis, while ensuring safety, reliability and compliance.
