DEKRA U.S. Facilities Recognized for CCC Digital Key™ Testing

DEKRA North America has furthered it’s approvals by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) as a CCC Digital Key Authorized Test Laboratory (ATL) at two U.S. locations: the Michigan Automotive Test Center of Excellence (Plymouth, Michigan) and Sterling, Virginia, complementing DEKRA’s existing CCC Digital Key ATLs in Spain, Germany, Mainland China, and Taiwan. With this authorization, DEKRA can perform conformance and interoperability testing for CCC Digital Key certification and support customers pursuing the CCC Digital Key mark in North America.

Why this matters

CCC Digital Key enables drivers to lock, unlock, start, and securely share vehicle access using smartphones and other devices. The certification program validates interoperability and security across NFC, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) to deliver a consistent user experience across vehicles and platforms.

Strengthening a proven global footprint

The new U.S. recognition complements DEKRA’s existing CCC Digital Key ATLs in Málaga (Spain), Guangzhou and Suzhou (Mainland China), and Taiwan, providing global coverage for OEMs, Tier-1s, silicon vendors, and device makers.
“CCC’s authorization of our labs in Michigan and Virginia brings digital key certification even closer to North America’s engineering hubs. It complements our capabilities in Europe and Asia, giving OEMs and device makers a unified path to validate interoperability and security across NFC, BLE, and UWB. The result is a more consistent, trustworthy experience for drivers and fleets,” said Juan Carlos Mora, Vice President, Business Line Connectivity Testing at DEKRA.
“Expanding CCC Digital Key™ certification to Plymouth and Sterling reflects our commitment to serving the American automotive market. These U.S. locations bring certification within reach of our customers’ programs and integrate seamlessly with our broader portfolio—connected-car interoperability, automotive cybersecurity, and EV/EVSE testing. Additionally, DEKRA provides Apple MFi CarKey and digital car key on Android™ testing and certification services, and NFC Forum CCC Digital Key official testing. We’ll continue to bring customers innovative testing and certification solutions to validate compliance, interoperability, and security of the digital key ecosystem—and there’s more to come as we expand U.S. capabilities,” said Fernando Pons Rodriguez, VP Strategic Development, Product Testing Americas at DEKRA.
