The European Handball Federation (EHF) and the international expert organization DEKRA are expanding their cooperation. DEKRA will become the Official EHF Referee Partner in a number of competitions, from the EHF Champions League, the EHF European League to the youth national team competitions and the EHF Wheelchair Handball Championship. The partnership covers a total of around 1,300 individual games per season. The collaboration will initially run for two seasons until mid-2027. Both sides had previously announced a partnership for the Men's and Women's EHF EUROs 2026.

“This means that DEKRA will be present as a partner in almost all EHF competitions”, says EHF Secretary General Martin Hausleitner. “In terms of substance, the DEKRA brand could not be a better fit for our referees: neutrality, objectivity, and precision are the values we share. We are very pleased about this broad and comprehensive partnership.”
The sponsorship will focus on DEKRA branding on the clothing of referees in around 1,300 season games. LED perimeter advertising will be added for youth national team competitions such as the Men's 20 EHF EURO and Women's 19 EHF EURO which is currently being played in Montenegro. At the EHF FINAL4s and the EHF Finals, the final weekends of the EHF Champions League and the European League, DEKRA will also present the fair play announcement before the games.
In addition to the sponsorship activities, the cooperation also includes sustainability services that the EHF is commissioning from DEKRA. “In addition to visibility for our brand, we are particularly pleased to actively support the EHF with our expertise in the field of sustainability”, says Uta Leitner, Executive Vice President Communications and Brand Management at DEKRA. “This will turn the collaboration into a genuine, active partnership. We are very much looking forward to getting started at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.”
