DEKRA advances its Digital Trust Services with new cybersecurity evaluation laboratory
DEKRA has inaugurated a new laboratory dedicated to cybersecurity testing and certification services for digital products and semiconductors located in Málaga, Spain, serving customers worldwide. This significant milestone reinforces DEKRA’s position as a leading provider of testing, evaluation, and certification services for embedded systems and digital technologies. With this expansion, the company strengthens its role in advancing Digital Trust, broadening its capacity to meet the growing global demand for safety and security in a connected world.
"Ensuring security and digital trust at every stage of the semiconductor product’s lifecycle is crucial, as vulnerabilities can be introduced at any point during production, supply, or use," said Peter Laursen, Chief Operating Officer at DEKRA. “With the opening of a laboratory in Málaga focused on evaluating digital products and semiconductors' cybersecurity, DEKRA enables customer innovation while maintaining digital trust, since it's not just about securing one product, but about contributing to protect the entire ecosystem of the digitalized world we live in”.
DEKRA's new cybersecurity laboratory offers comprehensive evaluation and certification services in the area of Digital Trust, covering the entire product value chain. This includes testing and assessment of System on Chip (SoC) and embedded systems, as well as connected products, AI solutions, and certification services. Through this integrated approach, DEKRA supports its customers in achieving compliance with European and international standards and regulations, including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
The key services offered in DEKRA’s cybersecurity laboratory are:
• International standards, including Common Criteria and FIPS 140-3, focused on security and cryptographic evaluation.
• Spanish National evaluation schemes, such as LINCE and CPSTIC, within the framework of Spain’s National Cryptologic Center (CCN).
• Industry-specific services, covering standards like SESIP, a benchmark for Internet of Things (IoT) platform evaluation, and PSA, which validates the security of hardware and software platforms.
Building on decades of cybersecurity expertise across Automotive, Healthcare, Industrial, Internet of Things (IoT), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and SoC industries, DEKRA continues to grow its global network of laboratories and technical capabilities. The new facility further strengthens the company’s Digital Trust Services (DTS), enhancing DEKRA’s capacity to support manufacturers and technology providers worldwide in developing trustworthy and compliant connected products in the digital era.
