Press Release Commitment to Workplace Safety
DEKRA Becomes Partner of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Vision Zero Fund
Jun 25, 2026DEKRA and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Geneva to cooperate within the framework of the Vision Zero Fund. Through this agreement, DEKRA will contribute its global expertise in safety, testing, inspection, and certification to international initiatives aimed at improving occupational safety and health.
The Vision Zero Fund is an initiative of the G7 countries and is administered by the ILO, the UN agency dedicated to promoting decent work and social justice, bringing together governments, employers and workers to advance labor standards worldwide. The initiative is guided by the principle of “Vision Zero” – that every occupational accident, serious injury, and work-related fatality can and should be prevented. The Fund focuses particularly on global supply chains and implements projects in high-risk sectors such as construction, agriculture, garments and textiles. Since 2022, it has also addressed the impact of climate change on occupational safety and health. Since its launch in 2016, the Fund reports improvements in working conditions for more than eight million workers.
As part of the collaboration, DEKRA will contribute capabilities in occupational safety, risk assessment, inspection, auditing, certification, and training. In addition, both partners will collaborate on international expert events, research projects, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to further advance safe and healthy working conditions around the world.
This engagement reinforces DEKRA’s position as a global partner for organizations seeking to reduce serious incidents, strengthen operational discipline, and protect workforce continuity across complex operations. For multinational organizations, particularly those managing high hazard environments and extended supply chains, alignment with the Vision Zero framework provides a credible path to demonstrate leadership, transparency, and risk reduction at scale.
“Safety does not stop at factory gates or national borders. In a globally connected economy, occupational safety and health must also be considered from a global perspective. Through the Vision Zero Fund, we support the shared goal of sustainably reducing occupational accidents and work-related illnesses while promoting safe working conditions across global supply chains. This reflects our commitment for more than 100 years: protecting people today and helping secure the future,” said DEKRA CEO Stan Zurkiewicz at the signing ceremony in Geneva.
