In order to provide information about us and to ensure a comprehensive presence on the Internet, we operate accounts within social networks. These include, in particular, company profiles stored on our website as part of plug-ins, but can also be profiles of our employees in their role as corporate influencers.
As a rule, social networks can fully analyze the behavior of their users when they visit the website. When you visit our social media profiles, numerous data protection processing operations are triggered, which may also affect your personal data. Our social media profiles are designed to ensure the widest presence possible on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest. The legal basis for the processing of data after interaction with the content of DEKRA's social media profiles is therefore point (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR and, if the user has given consent, point (a) of Article 6(1) GDPR. We have no influence on the analytical processes initiated by the social networks. These may have different legal bases and must be specified by the respective operators. 3. Purposes of data processing

We collect and process your personal data in the context of our social media profiles for the following purposes:
3.1 Processing contact inquiries and customer care
If you contact us via our social media profiles, the data you provide and your user profile will be visible to us. We process the personal data you provide in order to respond to your contact and interaction requests. Under certain circumstances, your data may be used by the respective platform operator for advertising purposes and for the creation of analyses, evaluations and statistics.
3.2 Evaluation for statistical purposes and needs-based design of our offerings
Insights may be used for the purpose of needs-based design and continuous optimization of our offerings as well as for the display of target-group-oriented posts. DEKRA receives only anonymized statistics and information from the platform operator about how many users visit and interact with our profiles and at what time.

DEKRA uses the technical platform and services of Meta, formerly Facebook, for the information service offered here.

4.2 Instagram
Instagram is an online service for sharing photos and videos that belongs to the Meta Group, formerly Facebook. DEKRA uses the technical platform and services of Meta for the information service offered here.

4.3 Twitter
DEKRA uses the technical platform and services of Twitter for the short message service offered here.

DEKRA also uses the Xing platform to maintain a company profile, share business posts and recruit employees. 5. Processing of personal data by social media providers

When you visit our social media profiles, your IP address and other information that is available on your PC in the form of cookies is stored by the respective platform provider by means of what are known as page insights. This information is used, among other things, to provide DEKRA with anonymized statistical information about the use of the profile page.
As far as we are aware, the provider furthermore stores this data in usage profiles, which it uses for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such evaluation is carried out in particular (including for users who are not logged in) to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles. To exercise this right to object, please contact the respective provider.

6. Third country transfer

The data collected about you in connection with your visit to our social media profiles is processed by the providers and may be transferred to countries outside the European Union, in particular the USA.
