CBAM Practitioner Training
Cost calculation for the definitive period and decision support for CBAM compliance
This practitioner training is designed for organizations that already know the CBAM basics and now need to deepen operational implementation. You will learn how to calculate CBAM costs in a transparent and auditable way. The training explains how to apply default values and benchmarks based on CN code and country of origin. Through realistic case studies, you will work with practical scenarios relevant to the 2026–2028 definitive period. This includes certificate purchasing, verification requirements, and potential sanctions.
Regulatory Framework
The training is based on Regulation (EU) 2023/956 establishing a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the rules applicable for the definitive period from 2026. It addresses the CBAM obligations for EU importers (authorized CBAM declarants), including determination of embedded emissions, calculation of the number of CBAM certificates to be surrendered, certificate purchasing mechanics, and the role of verification requirements under the CBAM framework.
