Occupational Safety and Health Protection

Customer-specific requirements, recommendations and instructions for anti-infection measures

Prevention and hygiene measures

According to national and international regulations on occupational safety, employers are required to assess health and safety risks to employees in the workplace and to introduce protective measures (risk assessments).

The risk assessments must be adapted accordingly.

This assessment shall also take into account infectious disease risks and implement appropriate prevention and hygiene measures. The aim of all anti-infection measures must be to delay the further spread of the virus.

Organizational measures

  • Trace possible infection pathways.
  • Request proof that the employees of external contractors and service providers (e.g. cleaning services, management consultants, temporary workers have had no contact with people from the risk areas as defined by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
  • Prevent visitors and guests from entering the company if possible.
  • Arrange consultations of any kind only in case of urgent necessity and with a small number of people. If possible, carry out consultations via telephone and video conference.
  • Ensure that foreign-language employees (e.g. drivers, transporters, etc.) have understood the hygiene requirements and protective measures.
  • Post notices on hygiene measures in bathrooms and other suitable places (notice board).

Measures for common areas and similar facilities

  • Implement cleaning intervals according to ASR 4.1 section 5.1. (Bathrooms and their furnishings shall be cleaned and, if necessary, disinfected according to the frequency of use. In case of daily use, they must be cleaned at least daily).
  • Set up time-slots for the break areas to limit the number of people using them at one time.
  • Provide additional waste collection containers and empty them daily in compliance with hygiene requirements.
  • Provide additional disinfectants if washing facilities are not available in sufficient numbers.
