Safety as key to success

Technical acceptance in the DTM Trophy

DEKRA and DTM extend long-standing partnership. The DEKRA technical inspectors will also be responsible for the technical scrutineering of the GT sports cars in the DTM Trophy junior series. The DEKRA logo is present on the starting numbers of all three DTM racing series - DTM, DTM Trophy and DTM Classic.

"The fact that the partnership with DEKRA has already lasted over 30 years is remarkable and makes us both proud and grateful. With the exceptional expertise of its experienced and dedicated staff, DEKRA plays a central role in inspecting the race cars for compliance with the technical regulations," says Benedikt Böhme, Managing Director of the DTM organization ITR GmbH. "The extension of this long-standing partnership is a clear vote of confidence in our DTM platform."

DEKRA and the DTM have always pursued two goals with the partnership initiated in 1989: the safety of all involved and equal opportunities for all participants. In addition, DEKRA also contributes its know-how to the further development of the regulations. Most of the employees who are on duty at the DTM race weekends come from the DEKRA Technology Center at the Lausitzring. There, they test driving dynamics, exhaust gas behavior and much more according to the latest standards on a day-to-day basis.

"We are delighted to be able to expand our portfolio in this racing series by taking over the operational implementation of technical scrutineering in the DTM Trophy. The inspection of the entire range of GT vehicles in the DTM is a new challenge for us, which we face with great motivation thanks to our decades of experience in motorsport," says Guido Kutschera, Chairman Managing Director of DEKRA Automobil GmbH. "We hope that both the DTM and the DTM Trophy, will continue to provide exciting races due to the diversity of brands, and DEKRA will once again play its part in ensuring that they are run in a sporting, fair and safe manner."
